Borovets Hill is a recreational area located in the northeastern part of the city. It is famous for its clean air, panoramic views of Yambol, and its television tower. Borovets Forest Park covers a total area of ​​276 acres and has an elevation of 150-230 m. A forest area of ​​89.7 hectares was declared by Decree No. 3/7 of February 10, 1976. The existing vegetation consists of artificially created species such as acacia, larch, biota, sycamore, plane tree, ash, linden, almond, and lilac. The northern slope of Borovets Park is deforested. In 2005, the National Program "Providing Employment through Social Assistance" was implemented in Borovets Park. The amount of support provided by the Yambol Municipality under the program is 33,960 BGN, which covers the removal of old tree trunks and the planting of 1,600 deciduous trees and 3,024 flowering shrubs.

The city's geographical latitude and altitude determine the slight difference in thermal conditions between the main seasons, winter and summer. The region is characterized by relatively mild winters; the average monthly temperature in January is 0.2 °C and the average monthly temperature in July is 23.2 °C. The average annual maximum temperature is 17.9 °C, and the average annual minimum temperature is 6.4 °C. The average annual monthly temperature is 12 °C.
