Ziraat Katilim Bankasi A.S. was established with a capital of TL 675,000,000—fully paid by the Treasury of the Republic of Turkiye—pursuant to the authorization granted by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (Decision No. 6046 dated October 10, 2014, published in the Official Gazette dated October 15, 2014, No. 29146). It obtained its operating license via the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency’s decision dated May 12, 2015 (Decision No. 6302, published in the Official Gazette dated May 14, 2015, No. 29355). Pursuant to the resolution adopted at the Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting held in December 2023, Ziraat Katilim Bankasi's capital was increased to TL 10,350,000,000.
It was established pursuant to the BRSA’s authorization dated February 27, 2015 (No. 6205), published in the Official Gazette dated March 3, 2015 (No. 29284), and acquired legal personality upon its registration in the trade registry on June 25, 2015. It obtained an operating license via the BRSA’s decision dated February 11, 2016 (No. 6729)—published in the Official Gazette dated February 17, 2016 (No. 29627)—and commenced participation banking operations on February 24, 2016.
It was established in 1926 under the name *Emlak ve Eytam Bankasi* (Real Estate and Orphans' Bank)—bearing the signature of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk—with the mission of undertaking the reconstruction of the young Republic of Turkey, supporting construction initiatives, and safeguarding the rights of orphans following the years of the National Struggle. Having changed its name several times over the years to adapt to the country's evolving needs, the Bank continued the journey it began as *Emlak ve Eytam Bankasi* under the names *Turkiye Emlak Kredi Bankasi* and *Turkiye Emlak Bankasi*, respectively. In 2018, a decision was made for it to resume operations as a participation bank; subsequently, *Turkiye Emlak Katilim Bankasi* obtained its operating license in 2019. Today, it continues to serve with a deep-rooted 99-year history and a team of expert bankers.
Operating as a participation bank since December 26, 2023, Dunya Katilim set out with a mission to provide trust-based, inclusive financial services "for everyone," grounded in the sustainable structure inherent to participation banking. A subsidiary of Ahlatci Holding, Dunya Katilim aims to become a pioneering and leading bank that expands the participation finance sector's market share by operating as an inclusive financial platform through its innovative, needs-oriented products, collaborations, and subsidiaries.
Turkiye Finans was established in 2005 through the merger of "Anadolu Finans"—founded in 1991 as the first private finance institution with 100% domestic capital—and "Family Finans," which had provided participation banking services under the name "Faisal Finans Kurumu" between 1985 and 2001. The merger of Anadolu Finans and Family Finans was officially registered by a decision of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) dated December 28, 2005, and on December 30, 2005, the Bank's corporate title was changed to Turkiye Finans Katilim Bankasi A.S. A major period of transformation and growth for Turkiye Finans began on March 31, 2008, when the National Commercial Bank (NCB) acquired a 60% stake in the company. On October 11, 2020, the National Commercial Bank decided to merge with Samba Financial Group; the merger process was completed on April 1, 2021, and the National Commercial Bank's corporate title was changed to Saudi National Bank. Saudi National Bank is the controlling shareholder of Turkiye Finans, holding a 67.03% stake.
Kuveyt Turk has been operating in the field of interest-free finance since its establishment on March 31, 1989. The bank contributes to the development of participation finance through its dynamic corporate governance approach, innovative products offered to customers, and international expansion.
Albaraka Turk Participation Bank was established in 1984, pioneering interest-free banking in Tuürkiye, and began active operations in 1985. It conducts its activities in Turkiye in accordance with Banking Law No. 5411 as a participation bank founded under the leadership of Albaraka Group B.S.C.(c)—one of the Middle East's prominent capital groups—the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), and a domestic industrial group that has served the Turkish economy for over half a century.
Sekerbank was established in Eskisehir on October 12, 1953, under the name "Pancar Kooperatifleri Bankasi A.S." (Beet Cooperatives Bank Inc.), with the aim of supporting local development, sustainable production, and the agricultural industry through the savings of hundreds of thousands of farmers who were members of beet cooperatives. The bank adopted the name Sekerbank when it relocated to Ankara in 1956. A portion of Sekerbank's shares was offered to the public in 1997, and its headquarters was moved to Istanbul in 2004.
Acquired from the Privatization Administration by the HABAS Group in 1997, Anadolubank has rapidly established itself as a respected and strong institution within the Turkish banking sector, driven by a strategy of sustainable and profitable growth.
