Buyukkaristiran town is a settlement in the Ergene Basin in the Thrace subregion of the Marmara Region, affiliated with the Luleburgaz district of Kirklareli province. It borders the Muratli and Corlu districts of Tekirdag province to the south and east. To the north and northwest, it is bordered by the villages of Kucukkaristiran and Karamsul, and to the west by the village of Ciftlikkoy.

The geography of Buyukkaristiran is generally flat. In the Ergene Basin, residential areas are located northwest of the Buyukkaristiran stream, while industrial areas are to the southeast. The settlement areas of the town are generally situated at an altitude of 70 - 75 meters. In terms of climate, a continental climate predominates, with southwest winds prevailing.

After Kirklareli province was included in the list of priority provinces for development in 1977, due to ease of transportation, the presence of necessary infrastructure, and the availability of labor force, large industrial establishments were rapidly established in Buyukkaristiran, leading to fast development. Many factories, which play an important role in the country's economic development, operate within the town's borders.
