Uzunkopru Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a 130-year historical background. It was established in 1885 as the "Cisr-i Ergene Chamber of Commerce" in the Edirne Province Yearbook.
The Kesan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established on November 17, 1958, with a Board of Directors elected from within the Assembly, consisting of Mehmet Cuhaci, Serif Yoruk, Ibrahim Aktug, Hayrettin Gursel, Hasan Sapci, Huseyin Yazir, Osman Ergene, Kadir Karasu, Emin Balci and Nedim Mercan and began its activities in the region in accordance with relevant laws.
The establishment of Chambers of Commerce in Western countries dates back to the 1700s. In contrast to these Western organizations, Turkish culture had its equivalents in the form of Ahi brotherhoods, guilds, and craft organizations.
The establishment of the Edirne Organized Industrial Zone began in 1994 with the formation of the Entrepreneurial Committee. Currently, the zone, covering 257 hectares of developed land, contains 93 industrial plots of various sizes, totaling 1,567,831.31 m². The zone is a mixed-use industrial zone, and production is permitted in various areas as determined by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
