According to research, a Chamber of Commerce was established in Tekirdag after the Balkan War.
Although it fulfilled its duties with a staff of 2 members and 1 clerk until the Greek occupation, no documents from this period could be obtained due to the occupation.
As soon as the Greeks occupied the city, they re-established a Chamber of Commerce, taking into account the commercial situation, and this chamber consisted solely of Greeks.
However, no records belonging to this chamber have been found.According to the Chamber of Commerce Law No. 655 dated 22.4.1342, a Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in Tekirdağ and began to fulfill its legal duties. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1925 with the aim of preventing the sale of goods produced according to this law in street markets and ensuring that it is done in an orderly and systematic manner.
The chamber, which was administered according to the provisions of Law No. 655 until 1951, adapted to Law No. 5590 on 1.8.1951, and since 1.6.2004, it has been adapting to Law No. 5174 and fulfilling its duties according to the provisions of this law.
