The Ilhan Koman Sculpture and Painting Museum was established on September 23, 2002, the 20th anniversary of Trakya University, under the name 'Contemporary Painting and Sculpture Museum'. In 2011, it was renamed 'Ilhan Koman Sculpture and Painting Museum' by a decision of the University Senate. In the same year, it moved to the historical mansion in the Karaagac campus of the Faculty of Fine Arts, which also houses the Old Train Station Building, the Lausanne Monument and Square, and the National Struggle and Lausanne Museum.
The museum collection includes works by many important artists who have made their mark in art history, most notably the world-renowned sculptor Ilhan Koman from Edirne, after whom the museum is named.
The museum collection was acquired entirely through donations. These works include those by Burhan Dogancay, Adil Dogancay, Devrim Erbil, Mehmet Pesen, Burhan Yildirim, Basri Erdem, Bahattin Odabasi, Onay Akbas, Numan Pura, Mustafa Plevneli, Gungor D. Aribal, Fehim Huskovic, Nikolay Alexiev, Orhan Benli, Hakan Esmer, Halim Celiker, Habib Gerez, Mustafa Aslier, Ismail Avci, Hayri Esmer, Hasan Pekmezci, Atilla Atar, Tulin Onat, Hatice Bengisu, Suleyman Saim Tekcan, etc. It houses sculptures, paintings, and prints by important artists such as [list of artists].
