During the Gallipoli Campaign, in addition to the hospitals affiliated with the 5th Army Supply Organization, the mobile hospitals established by the Turkish Red Crescent Society in the region played an important role.
It is known that soldiers wounded on the front lines first began treating their wounds with the materials in the "War Package" sewn into their bags.
The soldiers, carried by medical personnel to the "wounded quarters" behind the lines, were then taken to "dressing stations" where simple operations could be performed, and finally to hospitals behind the front lines.
The Turkish Red Crescent Hospital Reenactment Area designed in Alcitepe offers visitors the opportunity to experience a hospital behind the front lines in all its details.
The events in a dressing station bombed by enemy aircraft are brought to life for visitors through the sound systems in the area.
From the machine gun trenches that protected the hospitals from enemy aircraft... Among the points of interest for visitors, starting from the tea house, operating room, warehouse, registration and first aid tents, sterilization machine, and the shaded areas where our soldiers who lost their lives were kept are located.
The infirmary tent, the station where the water carrier was located, and the horse-drawn ambulance are complementary elements of the reenactment.
It is also possible to see an original field stretcher with a sunshade, used to carry a soldier wounded in the battles of 1915, in the museum.
